Papier-mâché

Japanese traditional craft "Papier-mâché"

This is a folk craft made using a technique of layering paper onto a mold.

With their vibrant colors and adorable expressions, they are popular as lucky charms and talismans, and different designs have been passed down from region to region across Japan. Even though they use the same mold, there are subtle differences between each one, and one of their charms is that you can feel the warmth of handmade items.
